* WHAT...Flash Flooding caused by a potential failure of the Lower
Flower Creek Diversion Structure related to additional rainfall
early this week.
Officials are currently working to mitigate this potential hazard
by releasing additional water to take pressure off the diversion
structure; these water flows are expected to stay below peak
levels during the flood event last Thursday.

flooding of urban areas.

- Recent heavy rain caused damage to the Lower Flower Creek
Diversion Structure. Forecast rainfall has the potential to
cause additional damage to the structure, bringing the risk
for uncontrolled water released into the town of Libby. The
main Flower Creek Dam is stable and functioning as designed.
